DIY Friday: Tea Envelopes

I spotted this simple and sweet DIY project over at A Print A Day. It would make a really darling favor for a shower, no? (Or perhaps a special “get well” to send off to a loved one?)

Snippet and Ink: Recap

I know you’ve seen some of the images from our Snippet and Ink shoot, but I thought I’d end the week off with a few more of my favorite pictures. There were so many beautiful shots taken by Bonnie Tsang that I felt remiss not to share a few more. I hope you can handle that. Again, I have to thank all of our insanely talented vendors and particularly Alicia, the owner of Key’s Creek Lavender Farm. I had the opportunity to spend several afternoons with her in preparation for our shoot and she felt just like a kindred spirit. Her farm is peaceful, awe-inspiring, and a real joy to visit. Alicia is fashioning Key’s Creek to be the PERFECT location for you outdoorsy, vintage, organic farm inspired brides.

Also, Kathryn of Snippet and Ink was so gracious to allow us the opportunity to make an attempt at bringing to life the perfection she brings us on a daily basis through her blog. I’m honored that we’re the first to have had a go.

Lastly, several of the wardrobe accessories are available for purchase here. A few pieces have already been snapped up, but if you dig those vintage gloves as much as I do, head on over here and make them yours!

Oh…and check back later today. I have a simple little DIY to start your weekend! Happy Friday!

This salmon was insanely good, and I convinced Chef Kate McAloon to share the recipe with us. To view it, click on the link below to see the details after the jump!

Peggy Wong of Blue Pool Road developed our fabulous stationery suite, Kate Holt of Flowerwild designed the stunning florals, Jeni Maus of Found Vintage Rentals put together all our killer furniture, and Chef Kate McAloon created a custom menu and styled (and cooked) all the glorious food!

DIY: Drink Me!

Custom stationery and design studio, Truly Smitten recently created some totally adorable bottle tags that read: “Drink Me!”. I love those types of commands. Yes, I don’t mind if I do. Sara, the designer behind the fab blog and studio, even went so far as to offer a free download of the tags, so be sure to head over to her blog and save the pdf! These would be so great for any sort of wedding, shower, or Thursday evening for that matter.

Real Wedding: Stephanie and Kylan

Stephanie and Kylan’s wedding has so many pops of color! It’s a perfect midweek summertime treat. Photographer Sarah Rhoads shared these images with us and I’m hoping they’ll be a nice little pick-me-up. (That is…if you are in need of one).

Spotted: DIY Centerpiece

I just spied these DIY paper flower centerpieces and felt obligated to share. The bride, Sarah, also handmade burlap sachets filled with chocolate covered espresso beans as favors. You need to check out her entire wedding over on Belle Bride, but I thought I’d give you a little DIY inspiration! These images are by Andrea Dozier and I know you’re going to LOVE them!

Bridesmaid Love

How fabulous would this little jewelry pouch be as a bridesmaid gift? I’m always looking for handmade, thoughtful ideas, and I think this little ditty from Plum Pretty Sugar would be fabulous! Bonus gift: put some actual jewelry inside!

Real Wedding: Eric and Lina

Eric and Lina are an internationally diverse couple. While Eric is from the U.S., Lina hails from Denmark. One of the interesting things about planning their wedding were the American traditions, says Lena:

Bridesmaids aren’t a Danish tradition in weddings, but Eric explained the meaning behind it, and it was fun to choose special people in my life to share in the day.  Nana, my sister, insisted on being called the ‘best girl’ after she heard the guy version is called ‘best man’-maid of honor didn’t cut it for her.  It was really special to me that I could honor my cousins who traveled a long distance to come to my wedding in California.

One of my other favorite parts of their wedding were crepes made to order by Crepes Bonaparte. LOVE IT! Special thanks to T&H Photography for sharing their work! As always, they’ve taken gorgeous photos!

PHOTOGRARHY: t&h photography / BRIDE’S DRESS & VEIL: Marisa from Mary Me Bridal, Tustin, CA – the veil was made by a local seamstress BRIDE’S SHOES: Michael Shannon / BRIDESMAIDS DRESSES: H&M / GROOMS FORMAL WEAR: Suit and shirt from Zara and the tie from Express / FLOWERS: By Allison Vandewarker from Avant Garde Events / RECEPTION: Private Estate, Catering: Crepes Bonaparte / CEREMONY: Private Estate / WEDDING PLANNER: Lana Meadows / VIDEOGRAPHER: Danielle and Jared from Side by Side Video

DIY: Vintage Inspired Belt

If you’re looking for a way to add a rustic feminine element to your dress (or perhaps change it up for your reception?) I just saw this lovely trim on Etsy that has a world of DIY potential. I’ve put it into an inspiration board for you so as to spark some ideas!

Real Wedding: Melissa and Ryan

Photographer Kristen Leigh’s work is always always impeccable. Pretty much everything she shoots is an editor’s dream. Melissa and Ryan’s wedding is no exception. Their location, Strong Mansion, in Maryland, is unreal. I mean…it looks like a scene out of Pride and Prejudice. I really mean it! And all that bright color is just too good to be true!

Oh…and you may remember Melissa and Ryan’s engagement session, which I also featured here. I LOVE when I get to feature both the engagement and the wedding…it makes my selfish heart really happy. Special thanks to Kristen for sharing her insanely lovely images!

Abstract Expressionists

If you haven’t checked out the new stamp scene, you may not know about the new “Abstract Expressionists” stamps that are newly available. If you are a modern bride and looking to stamp your invites with a little pop, definitely check these out. They are over-sized and really lovely in person. The full sheet has a variety of options:

I love the close-up of the Jackson Pollok:

The always fabulous Peggy Wong of Blue Pool Road used the Barnett Newman for our Snippet and Ink invites. I LOVE the pop of color:
