Hitched: Sneak Peek

Hitched is right around the corner, which means if you haven’t bought your ticket yet, you best hurry on over and make sure you do! Today, I wanted to share a little peak at one of the fabulous boutiques that will be providing a few dresses for our fashion show.

Tavin will help us showcase gowns for you vintage inspired brides out there. In addition to Tavin, we’ve got another designer up our sleeves who, if fate aligns, will actually be in attendance at our event. But I’ll not count my eggs before they’ve hatched. So I’ll just whet your whistle with this:

Florence!

Okay, so this is super crazy exciting! A few months back, I was asked by Benfield Photography to style a photography workshop for them. You see, Benfield Photography is a team: Dale Benfield and Meredith McClary. Dale and Meredith are actually getting married in Florence, so the workshop is unique, because it is a “Real Wedding Workshop” where photographers will have a chance to shoot a real engagement session, wedding, and day after session.

But it gets better. The “Real Wedding Workshop” will take place in – no joke – Florence, Italy. ITALY…that little country across the Atlantic that looks like a boot!

Wait…there’s more.

Photographers will be shooting alongside Becker. Oh wait. Stop right there. The Becker. Is that too much to handle? It is for me. Seriously. I get to style a workshop AND a wedding in Florence, Italy with Becker? No joke.

Grey Readers! I am more than pleased to announce our new arrival to the {GREY} family. And guess what? It’s not just one arrival, but TWO! The truth is, Grey likes a lot more than just weddings, so an expansion was inevitable. That’s right EXPANSION! Two events going on this weekend. 

Saturday: {grey}likesweddings DIY Workshop. There are still spaces available, so if you are in the SoCal area, check it out! 

Sunday: A Soolip Wedding is happening this Sunday from 11am to 3pm, and I, for one, can’t wait! It is a modern bridal event featuring some of L.A.’s best bridal resources. As you may have guessed, I’m a pretty picky girl when it comes to bridal resources, so I’m thrilled to see what they’ll be showcasing. A Soolip Wedding will be held at Vibiana in Los Angeles. {f i n e p r i n t} The DIY Floral Workshop has two price options: one attendee or two attendees. One attendee option is $120 and includes flowers to create one bouquet and one arrangement (each worth much more than $200 at retail price) as well as materials, instruction and champagne, of course. Two attendee option is $140 and allows for a share project. Partners can choose to split their flowers (resulting in much smaller final products) or work together on the arrangements. Additional materials are provided for added attendee.

Event Announcement: DIY Workshop {edition one}

Many of you have expressed interest in a DIY Workshop for flowers–so much so, that I’ve decided to take the plunge. You, dear readers, are invited to join myself, my creative team, and other eager DIY-ers in demystifying floral design.

This is the perfect opportunity for those of you interested in learning how to put together a bouquet or arrangement for a wedding, shower, birthday, anniversary or any old plain Jane Tuesday.  

We’re aiming for a spring workshop, which is just in time if you’re considering designing your own flowers for a wedding or event this summer. I know budgets are tight right now as many brides (and hostesses alike) are looking for ways to cut costs. I’m hoping the knowledge, practice and confidence you’ll gain from this workshop will better prepare you for what’s to come, if you decide to do your own flowers.

The workshop is open to anyone–bride or not. Besides, there’s nothing like bright blooms, dirty hands and a little creativity to make your weekend that much brighter. I’m thinking champagne, puff pastries, and a big pile of peonies are the perfect ingredients for mixing, mingling, and mayhem. 

Dates, details and pricing are forthcoming, however the location will be in Orange County and we’re shooting for a Saturday in late March/early April. We’d like to know how many of you are interested, so please leave us a comment or send us an email if you are seriously interested in attending. Pricing will reflect floral materials and flowers and you’ll get to take a completed arrangement home with you.
