Sunday Suppers & Amy Atlas

Sunday Suppers teamed with Amy Atlas for their recent event and henceforth completely blew my mind. The photos of the Morroccan inspired table were shot by Karen Mordechai are just unbelievable. Additionally, Aran Goyoaga of Cannelle et Vanille contributed some of the desert creations, as did Ali Kantor. The cake is by Love Street Cakes, goodie bags by Thoughtful Day and the flowers by Rountree Flowers. I SWOON! Can these folks get together to do my wedding?

Cheree Berry

I’m sure by now, you’ve seen Cheree and Jeff’s swoon worthy wedding featured on Martha Stewart Weddings. But just in case you haven’t, here are a few snaps:

But, what you may have NOT seen is more of Cheree’s portfolio at Cheree Berry. So, I thought I’d share a bit with you. Please note: I LOVE her use of unexpected shapes and patterns, particularly when she pairs them all up.

Inspiration: Where do you find it?

Brides these days have no end to the number of resources available for them from which to gather inspiration. With a plethora of blogs and magazines taking care of the guess work, it has become much easier to find and set a foundation for one’s wedding. That being said, I think it is important to remember that inspiration can be found in unexpected places. It is vital to keep your mind open to what may spark the AHA! moment.

Case in point. I saw this gorgeous poster on the interwebs (from Zhou Fan)

…and I thought, What a lovely wedding would this make. Here’s an attempt at translating art into event…

So if you are undecided (or overwhelmed by the mass of wedding inspiration), go therefore and be inspired without limiting yourself to just wedding-ish stuff. Find something you absolutely LOVE and no matter where it is from or what it is, use that as your guiding force. My darling friend Jessica Claire is doing just that. Her wedding is based on a pair of shoes. What do you know?

Accessorize with Banana

No, not the fruit. The Republic. Of Banana, that is. (Wouldn’t it be cool if that were actually a place. Yeah, I live in The Banana Republic. No big deal. Then again…maybe it does exist. My geography skills are totally sub par.)

Who wouldn’t love a statement necklace like that? YUM. I’d like to seem some bridesmaids donning these wares.

Aubergine & Aqua

You may disagree with what I’m calling these colors, but I’m sure you’ll agree that this color palette is BEAUTIFUL! I love when pairs of color really pop together. And the touch of gold in this palette softens the whole thing out.

Favorite find? The paper butterflies from Bella Celestina. For $1.25, you get 60 of them. HELLO! Can you even deal with that kind of greatness? Can’t you see these as escort cards? Or perhaps strung together on fishing line and hung from above? It’s too much. I can’t handle it. Now don’t get me started on the cake! Will someone PLEASE use this color scheme for a wedding or a shower? I’d die!

Inspiration Request: Island Wedding

I received an inspiration request from a reader who is getting married on an island. She doesn’t want the look to be too forced, though, so I went for a colorful palette with navy blue, aqua and a little dollop of yellow. Hope you enjoy!

Yellow and Ocean

If I do another inspiration palette with aqua, you may have my head. So I called it ocean instead. I live by the beach and we are 15 degrees away from our beach cruisers hitting the sand with bikinis, fashion mags and ipods in hand. I can’t stop thinking in water hues, so you’re going to have to deal with some more aqua. I’m sorry. What more can I say? Hope you enjoy! Happy Monday!
