The NEWS, Giveaway Winner and CRANES!

Happy MONDAY! Another bright and glorious week is ahead of us. I thought I’d start the week off by catching you up on all the news and announcements. I’m sprinkling in tons of photos of paper cranes today (you’ll see why in a minute), just so you don’t go too crazy with all this boring writing.

Did you know that Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand paper cranes will be granted a wish? This beautiful bride and groom featured on Brooklyn Bride decided to do just that. (All their friends and family helped them fold over 1600 paper cranes. It makes me teary eyed just thinking about the symbolic gesture of contributing time and love to help the bride and groom earn a “wish”). First off, Grey Likes Weddings continues to gain new readers each week, and it’s because of all you fabulous readers and bloggers that have contributed with links and word of mouth. So thank you! Because of our readership growth, we’re working on a HUGE make-over and plan to include TONS of resources for you all, so get excited and stay tuned.

Second, the winner of our Superior Rings Giveaway was actually chosen by the Superior Wedding Rings staff. (So please forgive me for the delay!!!) I am pleased to congratulate bride and blogger Monkey In a Box. (So be sure to email me to claim your prize!)

Fourth, if you haven’t heard about Wedding Co.‘s Chandelier of Cranes Project, I encourage you to check it out. They’re asking engaged couples to make a paper crane, sign it and send it in. For every crane that is received, Wedding Co. is donating $.50 to cancer research. It’s a global DIY project, so I encourage you to consider participating. You can follow their Crane Updates here.

Giveaway Wednesday

Is it just me or do our giveaways keep getting better and better? Well, today’s giveaway is none other than a wedding ring!!!! What’s that you say? Yes. A wedding ring. Your eyes do not deceive you. Giveaway Wednesday…er, um, Thursday?

Power cord failure put us down for the count yesterday. But I think this giveaway will most certainly make up for it. For those of you that are working on getting your new nest ready, I think you may find yourself falling in love with the fine art photography from Trever Hoehne.
