Afternoon. Amy here. I won’t say a whole lot today because I am anxious to share this engagement shoot with you.

Laren & Courtney
Laren and Courtney are dear friends of mine whose wedding I had the privilege to attend last fall. I met Laren in 2008 when the non-profit he founded, Invisible Children, hired me. He soon after introduced me to his then-girlfriend Courtney, and I was sold on the pair. Over the past few years, it has been a joy to share life together and I count myself fortunate to know these two.

Esther
Esther Havens is a humanitarian documentary photographer, whom Laren and Courtney met through her work with Invisible Children. While this gig differed from her usual clientele, she hit the nail on the head. I appreciate how she captured the couple’s individuality in her photos. Courtney is a Lone Star native (by way of Austin) and the backdrop of city landmarks is pitch perfect. Laren works as a documentary filmmaker – watch for the vintage camera. Oh, and the two are unmistakably gorgeous. Dig it.

Blurries on Sale!

Just spied this bridal shoot from Anna Page Photography. I think it is so romantic with a little vintage twist to it. These shots are just another reason a bridal shoot can be so fabulous.

I’m sure there are severals schools of thought when it comes to the whole wedding album thing. I’ve gotta say, if you’re going for a sort of organic look, then you might just love this cutie little album, which has just enough handmade charm to make it oh-so-sweet.

I think this would make for a lovely little gift. Or perhaps a cute spin on the whole guest book thing? Maybe fill the book with pics of you and your love, from birth thru present. Guests will enjoy looking at your adorable photos while they leave their best wishes! Hmmm…the excuses to buy this album are stacking up!

Ahhhh….

These images from Victoria Pearson are absolute perfection, and when I look at them, I want to take a nap. Hmmm…I mean…they are so peaceful and lovely, I can’t help but breathe in, sigh, and soak it all in. Victoria is an advertising photographer, but she’s the best of the best, and so inspiring, I just had to share. I think these images would make for lovely shower inspiration. I threw in a little goodie from Martha to start us off. 

Props

I found this amazingly girly and totally unnecessary umbrella and spent some time trying to figure out a plausible excuse for its purchase (because I secretly adore the absolutely extravagant ruffles):

And then it hit me. Props. That’s right…as in props to use in your wedding photos. Sans the Scarlett-O’Hara-ness that this umbrella boasts, I really think the whole idea can be a barrel o’ fun. Here are some fun (and NOT cheesy…because cheese can sometimes accompany props) ideas for engagement and wedding shoots using props.
